A Invenção de Morel

Na FNAC, namoro The Best of McSweeney's volume 2, uma antologia de contos editada pelo escritor Dave Eggers (responsável pela tresloucada revista Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern).
Diz a contracapa:

«All you need to do now is take yourself over to the till, pass the book to the delighted sales assistant, hand over your money when requested to do so, then leave the shop secure in the knowledge that in your hand you carry the first flickering flames of a burgeoning short-story renaissance that will set Europe alight...»

Foi o que fiz. Só que em vez da sales assistant deparei com uma menina na caixa, nada delighted, o que até se compreende se tivermos em conta o corrupio consumista próprio da época, materializado em filas infinitas que se estendiam até às entranhas da loja.
